21st century skills
1. Communication skills: For my project I had to communicate a lot whether it is with my mom, some nurses or doctors. I had to communicate a lot with my mom due to the fact that we are both busy individuals and finding time to work on this project together was hard so we had to communicate a lot to find a solution that works best for both of us. For my project I had also made a website and to get information for my website I talked to some of my mom's nurse friends and a doctor or two. We talked over zoom but it involved a lot of communication to make that happen, I had to communicate and find a time and day we could do this. For each individual I talked to due to them having their own lives to live and I know they are busy too It took a lot of communicating and time to figure it out. I also had to communicate with places I wanted to donate my masks to as well such as Saint Theresa Church and the Recovery center, I had to ask if I was able to donate to them, what days can I donate to see what would be best for me, How many masks do they wanted. For this project I had to communicate with a lot of people but It had definitely help me improve with my communication skills.
2. Thinking and problem solving skills: With my project It wasn't all rainbows and unicorns, I ran through a couple bumps on the road which needed some thinking and problem solving skills. In the beginning of my project when I was designing how my mask should look with my mom, we wanted to actually include plastic eye shield in the mask and sew it to the fabric. We didn't know for sure how we were gonna do it so we had to think and find a solution, we had a couple ideas but all failed so we had to resort again to thinking and problem solving skills. That is how we came up with the idea to buy plastic eye shield protectors that we can incorporate in the packaging of the masks. Another bump in the road that I had ran into was when I originally wanted to include a video interview with some nurses and doctors and put it into my website, I was already running late with my schedule for my project that I made in senior seminar and I knew I wouldn't have the time for that so I had to use thinking and problem solving skills to come up with a solution . the solution I had came up with was instead of interviewing some nurses and doctors and interviewing them, I could talk to them on zoom and ask some questions and talk to them for information on my website . I had to use alot of thinking and problem solving skills with my project but in the real world your gonna be using that skill a lot som i'm glad I had a chance to use it and get better at using that skill.
